The Google Bias: Follow-up Comment

I had previously commented on Bryan’s page on his article talking about search bias coming from Google, his reply talked about Google’s potential abuse of user information and it reminded me of a Google Transparency Report that I had read just the other day.

My reply is found below:

As Google has recently started publishing a “transparency report” it has been interesting to see just how willing Google is to give out some of its users data from search and from other sources. One example of this was Google giving away the identities of the woman who had been emailing General David Petraeus on a regualr basis; for her, Google’s willingness to part with user information cost a lot more than a biased search result.
